The Medical Student Government is comprised of the executive council and the executive officers of each of the class councils. Together, the 32 members of the governing body promote student body activities, increase cooperation among the four classes, work with faculty and administrators to address student concerns, and liaison with the other student governments on the MCV Campus.
The entire student body may attend MSG meetings, which are typically held once per month. Meals are typically provided and special guests regularly attend. Invitations are sent via e-mail to your VCU account.
MSG officers are nominated each March and elected to office prior to the last meeting of the year (typically in May). Any student may run for any office and must give a speech and answer questions regarding their qualifications. The executive officers of the MSG and the executive officers of each class are able to vote and account for 50% of each candidate's vote. The remainder of each candidate's vote comes from the student body.
